Hempstead is kicking off the holidays with it’s annual Festival of Lights, Tree Lighting and Christmas Parade – a family-friendly event featuring live music, activities for kids, holiday Christmas lighting and a lighted Christmas parade. We can’t wait to see y’all there!

Take Part in Our Decorating Contests
During the Festival of Lights, there will be several opportunities to show your holiday spirit with one of our many contests. First, 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded for all contests, with prizes of $100 (1st place), $75 (2nd place) and $50 (3rd place).
Christmas Tree Decorating Contest
Participants will be assigned a tree in Gazebo Park in Downtown Hempstead to decorate. To participate, email melissa@hegemeyer.com.
